Come master the art - and the joy - of professional makeup application techniques under the instruction of top makeup experts in the field in this 50-hour certification class. Share the secrets (and the short-cuts) to bringing out the beauty in every woman and expand your career potential at the same time (or just learn how to apply your own/your friend's or family's makeup as perfectly as the pros!).

These makeup application classes focus on the truly creative possibilities that today's thousands of makeup products - and makeup application tools - can bring. From color theory to highlighting and contouring, you'll gain important hands-on experience in virtually every aspect of makeup. Classes are limited in size so that every student gets the chance to practice what they're learning: highlighting and contouring, precision eye makeup, brow shaping, artificial eyelash application, color blending, lip enhancement and corrective makeup techniques. Learn about the tools of the trade: what brushes are made of, where they come from, the various shapes and sizes and what works best for each particular makeup formula and technique. And, of course, how to protect your tools and products from contamination and maintain the highest possible standards of sanitation.

This class is the perfect stepping stone to the endless possibilities of careers in the makeup field, from working for a makeup company, in a department or specialty store, staffing or owning a makeup boutique, doing makeup application for theatrical productions, videos, fashion shows, magazines, advertising, editorials, working freelance, for major motion pictures or TV, or on your own or with a physician in the field of paramedical camouflage makeup. You will learn how to organize a makeup kit at a practical price, how to present yourself to potential employers and clients, and how to assess your goals in this growing, exciting field. Best of all, you'll gain insights from your fellow students from all around the world as well as from teachers who share enthusiasm and extensive experience in virtually all aspects of the makeup field.

Convenient weekend and evening classes are available.

NEW - Color Makeup Kit
NEW - Color Makeup Kit

At The Lia Schorr Institute we are proud to present the Color Makeup Kit. This kit represents a collection of professional quality, versatile colors and textures that create the firm foundation of every make-up artist’s needs.

The kit includes 18 intensely pigmented eye shadows, which fit into 3 six-well professional palettes. These carefully selected 18 colors range from neutrals to shocking hues and come both in metallic and matte textures. With these highly pigmented products you get true color payoff and greater durability.

Our Color Makeup Kit also includes a beautiful range of 6 powder blushes, which fit into 1 six-well professional palette. These highly pigmented colors range from mild to wild but can be blended down to work for every client. Along with powder blushes, we are excited to include 3 cream blushes. We have selected the three colors that will work on virtually every client. They are silky smooth blending easily and evenly across the skin.

Versatility is key to every make-up artist’s needs. To that end we have included 3 Ultra Pearl loose pigments that can be used in multiple ways. They can simply be blended over our other eye shadows to add extra drama. They can be blended into liquid foundations for that special glow or added to body lotions enlivening exposed skin. They also are an easy way to create shimmer lip-glosses when blended with clear gloss or blended into lip color.

Eyes can easily be defined with the 3 eyeliner pencils in the ever-popular black and coffee brown. The inner corners and rims can be brightened with ThreeCustom Color Specialist’s clarifying pencil in Light. Included you will also find 2 cake eyeliners in both black and brown. Framing the eyes has never been easier than by sweeping the 1 tube of Black mascara across the lashes. This hypoallergenic defining mascara is an invaluable general use one sure to meet your needs.

The perfect pucker is never too far off when you are using the 2 lip palettes from ThreeCustom Color Specialists in Warm and Cool. You can top these off with one of the lip-glosses that are included in the kit.

All of this is presented in a clear vinyl case that has room for you to continue to add additional products in the future.
