Come master the art - and the joy - of professional makeup application
techniques under the instruction of top makeup experts in the field in
this 50-hour certification class. Share the secrets (and the short-cuts)
to bringing out the beauty in every woman and expand your career potential
at the same time (or just learn how to apply your own/your friend's or
family's makeup as perfectly as the pros!).
These makeup application classes focus on the truly creative possibilities that today's thousands of makeup products - and makeup application tools - can bring. From
color theory to highlighting and contouring, you'll gain important hands-on
experience in virtually every aspect of makeup. Classes are limited in
size so that every student gets the chance to practice what they're learning:
highlighting and contouring, precision eye makeup, brow shaping, artificial
eyelash application, color blending, lip enhancement and corrective makeup
techniques. Learn about the tools of the trade: what brushes are made
of, where they come from, the various shapes and sizes and what works
best for each particular makeup formula and technique. And, of course,
how to protect your tools and products from contamination and maintain
the highest possible standards of sanitation.
This class is the perfect stepping stone to the endless possibilities
of careers in the makeup field, from working for a makeup company, in
a department or specialty store, staffing or owning a makeup boutique,
doing makeup application for theatrical productions, videos, fashion shows, magazines,
advertising, editorials, working freelance, for major motion pictures
or TV, or on your own or with a physician in the field of paramedical
camouflage makeup. You will learn how to organize a makeup kit at a practical
price, how to present yourself to potential employers and clients, and
how to assess your goals in this growing, exciting field. Best of all,
you'll gain insights from your fellow students from all around the world
as well as from teachers who share enthusiasm and extensive experience
in virtually all aspects of the makeup field.
Convenient weekend and evening classes are available.

This class is an introduction to use of the airbrushing tools that are the latest innovation in the makeup field. With the amazing changes in film and camera technology, makeup artists have been challenged to come up with ways to apply makeup so that it remains invisible. This class focuses on the use of the airbrushing machine as a technical tool to apply foundation makeup as well as artificial tanning products. You will learn how to use airbrushing machines most effectively, what types of foundations can best be applied with various types of machines, how to use and care for machines to bronze or perfect the skin, and how to use these techniques on the face and neck or as an all-over body makeup application technique.
